Meads provide an experienced fulfilent team of pickers and packers, whom will swiftly pick and pack your growing e-commerce orders, removing the logistical and timely hassle of you tackling the job inhouse.
Meads have developed a unique pick and pack fulfilment service that has been developed to ensure your orders are despatched promtly and accurately.
Every order received into Meads is assigned a unique order number by MeadsConnect. This number is used to produce the picking order, consignment note and to produce any labels required at despatch stage. It also allows Meads to provide full traceability on the order, in terms of picker ID, despatch ID, and dates for key operations.
Meads operate a scan pack system. Barcode technology allows a barcode on our picking sheet to interact with barcodes on either clients products or pick bin locations, goving MeadsConnect the ability to carry out QC as the order is picked.
Meads appreciate that the next person to see the goods after they have left our premises are the customers and that they will form an instant decision about the calibre and image of the company they perceived to have sent the goods, by the condition of their goods on arrival.
To this end, Meads take great care in checking that packaging is suitable for transit to ensure that products arrive in perfect condition. All of our pickers are trained to determine the most suitable and cost effective packaging method available for the items being despatched.
Once picked, orders are passed to the despatch department. Meads operate a scan despatch system for all parcels across our client list.
Here the picking sheet barcode on the picking note is scanned into the despatch system within MeadsConnect and the consignment note is automatically printed.
This also triggers the transit labels to be printed for the correct delivery company. MeadsConnect will know which carrier the order is to travel with by logically following a process of rules set up on the system. These rules include weight, transit time and price. Regardless of which carrier is selected the MeadsConnect system will print the correct transit label and assign the appropriate carrier detail and tracking number onto the order for tracking and POD purposes later in the fulfilment process.
The parcels are then placed within the correct transit despatch point.
